Food & drink in the LRC

To help maintain a clean, comfortable, and suitable study environment for all users, food may not be consumed within LRC study areas.
The following are permitted within the LRC:
- Bottled water
- Non-alcoholic drinks in sealed or lidded containers
Hot food, takeaway meals, and strong-smelling food items are not permitted within study spaces and should only be consumed in designated areas outside the LRC.
Users are kindly requested to keep all food items stored inside bags whilst within the LRC.
Why This Policy is Important
This policy is intended to:
- Maintain a clean and pleasant study environment
- Protect library materials, furniture, and equipment from damage
- Minimise disruption and odours within shared learning spaces
- Support a respectful and considerate environment for all users
Failure to Comply
LRC staff reserve the right to:
- Request that food items be removed from study areas
- Dispose of unattended food or uncovered drinks left within the LRC
- Restrict access to LRC facilities in cases of repeated or serious breaches of LRC regulations
Users may be held responsible for damage caused to University property, furniture, or library materials.
