Charges for lost items
If you lose a Library book or other type of publication, or damage it beyond repair, you will be charged for its replacement. Please contact us if you think you may have lost an item you have borrowed - email email@example.com.
Charge for lost/damaged books, DVDs, etc
Original purchase price (or standard replacement charge of £35) + £10 processing fee per item
If bills for lost items and processing fees are not paid in a timely manner they will be registered as a debt to the University. In these circumstances fines accrued on all 7-day and recalled assumed lost items will be payable in addition to the charges above.
Charge for lost journals
Full replacement cost
We reserve the right to charge the full replacement cost of an item that has been lost. It is not possible to refund payments for lost items if subsequently found.
Methods of payment
Staff, Students and Associate members (not External borrowers) should go to the Campus Card Portal to pay fines or charges from your Campus Card Account. Available 24/7.
Credit/Debit Card payments
Call us on (0118) 378 8770 or email firstname.lastname@example.org with your contact details and we will phone you back if you wish to pay charges using your Credit/Debit card.
Credit/Debit card payments can be processed at the following times only:
- Monday - Thursday, 09:00 - 19:00 (subject to availability 17:00 - 19:00)
- Friday, 10:00 - 19:00 (subject to availability 17:00 - 19:00)
- Saturday and Sunday 09:00 - 17:00 (Term time only)
