Introductory Lectures: History of Reading Lecture

The focus of this lecture is the history of Reading. It begins by looking at when the town was founded and where it is situated geographically. It then moves on to trace the development and growth of Reading through the ages, from the early times of Viking attacks, up to the present day. It is a lecture which highlights the contrasts which Reading holds, with evidence of the historically alongside the modern.
