EAP materials
There is a wide range of materials available, including books, DVDs, grammar materials, dictionaries and pronunciation work. Most of the materials can be borrowed, including grammar books, books on academic writing and on learning vocabulary.

English language teaching
The Global Study Lounge contains many materials for use by those studying English Language Teaching.
Referencing
Referencing is a key aspect of academic study for any new student starting their degree programme, whether they are from the UK or overseas. There are resources available in the Global Study Lounge, but you may also want to consult our Main Library's guide on referencing.
World languages
In the Self Access Centre you will have access to a range of materials to help you with your language studies. We offer resources in the main languages taught at the University of Reading, but also hold resources in many other languages. Please see the World languages page for more details.

A grammar practice book with answers. Elementary/lower intermediate. Oxford University Press.
A comprehensive beginners' guide to grammar. Explains grammar using examples, to enable the student to practice as they go. Full colour illustrations.
Academic Writing - A handbook for International Students
by Stephen Bailey
Most international students need to write essays and reports for exams and coursework. Yet writing good academic English is a demanding task.
