Step 3 – Organise your graduation robes and other optional items

Required: Your academic dress

To see what your robes will be like, please read our description of your Academic Dress.

You need to hire or buy your academic dress (cap, hood and gown) from Ede & Ravenscroft Ltd by the date shown in the Key Deadlines page either:

· online at Ede & Ravenscroft

· by calling Ede & Ravenscroft on + 44 (0) 1223 734759

If you need to cancel your gown hire due to being unable to attend or deferring your graduation, you can request a refund by giving written notice to Ede & Ravenscrofts at least 7 days before your ceremony. You can do this by contacting Ede & Ravenscrofts directly or logging into your E&R online account. Please note, Ede & Ravenscroft may charge a small admin fee for this process.

Optional items

A photography and framing service is provided on the day by Ede & Ravenscroft, who offer both individual and family portraits and a range of certificate and portrait frames.

You can book photography in advance by visiting the Ede & Ravenscroft website or calling + 44 (0) 1223 734759. Alternatively, you can arrange it on the day but you may be subject to longer waiting times.

Stage photographs of you receiving your award will be available for purchase in the Celebration Zone shortly after your ceremony. Additionally, signposted areas will be provided for capturing memorable photos with your friends, family and fellow graduates.

View the official University of Reading merchandise, and special Centenary items celebrating 100 years of the University of Reading. You will also be able to browse and make purchases on the day.
