Career Support

Consultants are available to support all students who want to work in the UK or within and outside the EU. Book an appointment today.

We strongly encourage all students wherever possible to gain work or study experience outside of their native country.  Our Careers Consultants are on hand to support your exploration and decision making.

Consultants can support those who want to work in the UK or within and outside the EU. We have strong links with organisations such as Lockin China and are in touch with the Alumni Office so that we can put you in touch with Reading Graduates in all continents.  Many of the alumni supporting our career mentoring scheme (Thrive) are living and working in a variety of countries throughout the world.

We also offer workshops which may be of particular interest to International Students such as Staying in the UK to Work. Through the Undergraduate Research initiative Scheme International Students gain insight into research in the UK while the Reading Internship Programme enables International students to gain experience of work within the UK.

All International Students on undergraduate courses can access both long (one year) and short (six weeks) placements which will enhance their employability.

Those who may want to enhance their skillset take part in the University Experience and Development award RED Award. The RED Awards encourages students to record their attendance and participation in activities such as volunteering, paid work and professional development.  This helps many students each year to gain the skills and understanding employers are looking for throughout the world.

There is a lead Careers Consultant who runs regular focus Groups and attends National Training Events to ensure Reading students Regardless of where they come from, receive a quality service.  Book your 121 appointment.
