British Culture and English Language

Learn about British culture while improving your English language skills.

As a student from a partner university, you will experience studying at the University of Reading on this two-week course. You will receive core teaching in the English Language and UK culture, and enjoy educational and cultural trips.

What will you study?

  • Explore aspects of contemporary British culture.
  • Practise speaking and writing in English on a wide variety of topics.
  • Experience life within a UK university environment.

How will you study?

  • in-person lectures from University academic staff 
  • group work and workshops led by ISLI staff
  • visits to academic departments to meet the staff and students, in preparation for studying in the UK
  • cultural events and trips to broaden your understanding of British culture and society.

Eligibility:

The Summer School is currently open to students from University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM) and Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology (NUIST). Course fees and further details are available on request. Other bespoke short courses for students can be arranged through the Short Courses team.
