Responsibilities

I began working at UoR in September 2013 in the School of Chemistry, Food & Pharmacy as the Stores & Safety Manager. After the formation of Technical Services my position morphed into its current form, incorporating a larger team and an expanded range of services.

As the Logistics Division Manager, I am responsible for the provision of glass-washing and autoclaving services; laboratory coat cleaning; and chemical/biological/clinical waste disposal services to all schools supported within the Technical Services remit. I am also responsible for stores operations, including the issue and receipt of chemicals and solvents, laboratory consumables, and the supply of cryogenics and cylinder gases.

I am responsible for the management and wellbeing of eleven members of staff, delivering objectives and training in line with post requirements, and as part of our commitment to personal development.
