Welcoming students to Reading

The School of Politics, Economics and International Relations is dedicated to developing long-lasting and sustainable partnerships with prestigious universities and institutions around the world.

Our partnerships help to enhance the scope of educational and career paths available to our students and  support increased global engagement and collaboration to share ideas and learning opportunities.

Moscow State University of International Relations (MGIMO)

MGIMO is a prestigious Russian university, specialising in international relations, regional studies, and international law. It is famous for producing political, economic and civic professionals.

Through our unique partnership with MGIMO, we offer opportunities to study in both Russia and the UK at undergraduate and master's level.

Army Higher Education Pathway

In partnership with Henley Business School we deliver the British Army’s Higher Education Pathway, a programme providing army officers with degree-level qualifications.

Drawing on our expertise in international relations and strategic studies, this partnership is designed to provide the Army with an enduring "intellectual edge".

Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS)

We have a close relationship with the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) in both teaching and research.

We work with RMAS in delivering the Army Higher Education Pathway and welcome several RMAS staff to the department every two years as visiting research fellows.

Our research

In the latest Research Excellence Framework, 2014, 80% of our research impact was rated world-leading or internationally excellent, while many of our academics have attracted prestigious funded fellowships and grants for their work.

Meet our experts

Our staff have exceptional knowledge in an impressive range of political topics and issues. Many of our academics are directly involved in international politics, sharing their expertise with governments and policymakers.
