Summary module description:

Study Abroad 


Aims:

This module aims to enable students to study for two terms or one/two semesters (Spring and Summer Term for UoR) in a University in the United States, Canada, Australia or Europe.


Assessable learning outcomes:

These will be in accordance with the Learning Outcomes specified by the Host Institution, and will include assessment on Cognitive and Biological Psychology.


Additional outcomes:

By the end of the module it is expected that the student will have studied a number of courses in a Psychology Department in their chosen host university, including modules covering material on Cognitive and Biopsychology. 


Outline content:

Students will choose from the range of courses offered by the host institutions. These courses will amount to the equivalent of 60 credits from the University of Reading and must include Cognitive and Biological Psychology.


Global context:

Students will have the opportunity to broaden their education through studying abroad and experiencing the life and culture of another country.

Formative assessment methods:

Penalties for late submission:

The Support Centres will apply the following penalties for work submitted late:

  • where the piece of work is submitted after the original deadline (or any formally agreed extension to the deadline): 10% of the total marks available for that piece of work will be deducted from the mark for each working day (or part thereof) following the deadline up to a total of five working days;
  • where the piece of work is submitted more than five working days after the original deadline (or any formally agreed extension to the deadline): a mark of zero will be recorded.
