Write for InForm

Articles for the Spring 2027 Issue 26 of InForm are being accepted now until October 2026 (deadline date tbc). Issue 26 will take the theme of this year’s InForm Conference 2026 “Shifting Foundations: Navigating change in teaching and learning”, which is happening on Saturday 26 June 2026.

If you would like to submit an article for Issue 26, please also consider presenting at the InForm Conference 2026 as it is a great opportunity to share your work this year in advance of InForm Issue 26’s publication in Spring 2027.

Appropriate articles for InForm

InForm aims to disseminate teaching and learning-related good practice amongst members of the academic teaching community associated with international foundation programmes (IFPs). Although the broad scope of InForm welcomes articles sharing developments in IFP language learning, it is not primarily a language teaching journal.

We seek to present a range of articles which reflect the variety of academic disciplines commonly taught within IFPs, as well as the many additional roles and functions IFP colleagues perform in support of IFP students’ experience and programme success.

Evidenced findings from research, studies, initiatives and developments, with clear application to IFPs, are suitable for InForm’s main article section, with a word limit of 1,500 words. The InForm Exchange section, with a limit of 1,000 words, welcomes more diverse submissions, often bringing contemporary relevant issues to the IFP community and sharing experience, through literature reviews, reflections and comment.

Articles commonly share work done on IFPs, however non-IFP work shown to be relevant to IFPs will also be considered for inclusion.

Inspiration for Issue 26

Article submissions on all aspects of teaching and learning on IFPs are invited for Issue 26. However, with Issue 26 sharing the InForm Conference 2026 theme “Shifting Foundations: Navigating change in teaching and learning”, we particularly encourage submissions aligning with this theme. Some relevant topics to consider for inspiration are:

1. The Evolving Learner

How our students are changing and how our teaching methods must adapt in response.

Focus: Student needs, engagement, well-being, and diversity.

2. Assessment and Ethics in the Digital Age

Challenges and opportunities presented by AI and other technologies.

Focus: Artificial Intelligence, digital literacy, academic integrity, assessment design, and institutional responses.

3. Rethinking the Curriculum

What we teach, ensuring our curriculum is relevant, meaningful, and prepares students for their future degrees and careers.

Focus: Syllabus design, content selection, and linking EAP to broader contexts.

4. Evolving Our Practice and Identity

Exploring how we as educators are changing our roles, skills, and approaches to professional development.

Focus: Teacher development, professional identity, collaboration, and institutional change.

Submission deadline for Issue 26: October 2026 (date tbc).
