The Harris Garden is located on the University of Reading’s Whiteknights campus, beside the Philip Lyle building (RG6 6UR). what3words (///bleat.quit.minus).
By car
Parking near the Harris Garden is restricted to University Permit Holders only; the nearest pay & display car park is Car Park 1a, located about 20 minutes walk from the Harris Garden.
By public transport
Whiteknights campus is accessible by bus routes 20 (during semester time) and 21 (all-year round). The Harris Garden is a 15-minute walk from the UoR Whiteknights House bus stop.
By bike or walking
Cycle storage is available across Whiteknights campus; access to the secure cycle compound is restricted to University staff and students only. For a map of cycle storage across Whiteknights campus, visit Whiteknights Cycle Shelters.
The Harris Garden is only accessible on foot from central Whiteknights or from Earley Gate via The Wilderness. For more information, visit Walking to the University.
Accessibility
The Harris Garden is wheelchair accessible. Please be aware that there are some uneven surfaces in the garden.
There are no toilet facilities in the garden; access to toilets in nearby buildings is limited to weekdays only. During the weekend, the nearest available toilets are located in Park House. For the full opening hours, visit the Venue Reading website.
General guidance
- No dogs (except assistance dogs)
- No cycling, skateboarding, scootering or roller blading/skating (bike racks are available at the entrance to the Garden)
- No projectile sports (such as archery).
