Whether you are a University staff member looking to use your paid volunteering days or a member of the local community interested in gardening and the outdoors, we welcome you to join our volunteer sessions in the beautiful Harris Garden. Working alongside the Grounds Team, volunteers take part in a variety of seasonal gardening activities, including planting, weeding, pruning, mulching, and general garden maintenance, helping to care for and enhance this valued green space.
Volunteering is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, meet new people, learn practical horticultural skills, improve wellbeing, and make a positive contribution to the local environment. No previous gardening experience is required - just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved. Regular volunteer sessions take place on Monday and Thursday mornings, and we welcome both individuals and groups to join us. Whether you can volunteer regularly or occasionally, your support makes a real difference.
