Essentials The Important Stuff Values and Behaviours Consent and Harassment

Mandatory Training

At Reading, we are committed to creating a safe, fun and respectful environment where we can all thrive in a community where we all look out for one another.

In accordance with this commitment it is mandatory for all new students to undertake the tackling harassment training.  The course content will empower you with the skills and knowledge to prevent, identify, and respond to harassment, hate and sexual misconduct.  By taking the course you are contributing to a more respectful environment for everyone within the university community.

The Tackling Harassment and Consent training courses are mandatory and we expect all new students to complete this course before arriving on campus at the start of the academic year.

Register on the Epigeum website: using the following access code: 594a01c4 (use in the token code field) and select 'My Courses'.

If you have enrolled and are yet to complete the courses, please do so at your earliest convenience.

International students travelling to Reading may be unable to access the training in your current location, we recommend completing it soon after arriving in the UK.

The University Welfare team provides a space for you to be heard, with advisors offering support if you have been impacted by sexual harassment or violence. All specialist caseworkers at the service are trained to support you at your pace, non-judgementally and in confidence.

We encourage you to report all incidents of sexual violence, harassment and hate crime.  Report & Support makes it easier to notify us about incidents that require action. We encourage anyone who has experienced behaviour that made them feel uncomfortable or threatened to report it and receive the relevant support.

Report + Support

We recognise that everyone's situations are different and the support and advice we offer will be tailored to your individual circumstances and need. There is no pressure to take any action or to report and you are free to change your mind at any point.
