UG Home tuition fees

Information about tuition fees for undergraduate UK/EU/Channel Island students.

How much will my tuition fees be?

Our full-time undergraduate Home/EU course fees are currently £9,250 per year for students who started their course on or after the 2017/18 academic year.

You can apply for a government tuition fee loan to cover the cost of your fees. For more information on student loans, visit your Student Finance awarding authority webpages.

You don’t have to repay the loan until you have left education and are earning over £26,575 a year. The size of your repayments are tied to the amount of money you are earning. This means that if your salary goes down, repayments go down. If it falls below £26,575, repayments stop altogether.

If you haven’t repaid your loan after 30 years, any outstanding amount is written off (subject to government regulations). Find out more about what you pay, and when.

The discounted fee only applies to situations where the full year is spent on placement. Where only a part of the year is spent on placement the full tuition fee is payable to the University of Reading as normal.
