investing in your future Santander bursary

Providing financial support throughout your degree

The Investing in your future bursary is intended to provide the award winners with financial support throughout the three years of their undergraduate degree, to supplement tuition fee and maintenance loan funding available from the Student Finance Authorities.

This bursary also provides additional funding to support a study abroad opportunity in year two of the degree programme at one of our partner universities around the world.

In addition, this bursary offers additional financial support to enable the award winner to undertake a paid professional internships during spring or summer in year three. 

One final thing, we would like to introduce you to our online e-learning platform Blackbullion. You can log on to gain access to interactive, bite-sized financial lessons, helping you to master your money from pre-enrolment to graduation and beyond. Topics include budgeting, savings and debt management alongside a Student Loan repayment calculator.

Applications for both Santander bursaries are made on a single combined online application form. Please apply here

The closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday 14 June 2019

what is the bursary worth

  • £3000 per academic year (£9000 total)
  • Additional funds to support a study abroad opportunity in year two
  • Additional funds to support an internship opportunity in year three

who is eligible to apply

In order to apply for either of the Santander Bursaries you must:

  • Have an offer to study an undergraduate course at the University of Reading; and

  • Be a permanent resident of the UK; and

  • live in an area with high levels of deprivation (Defined as IMD Quintile 1 and 2); and

  • live in an area with low participation in Higher Education (Defined as Polar3 Quintile 1 or 2); and

  • be assessed by your Student Finance Authority as eligible for financial support and have an assessed household taxable income of £0.
