Changes to your personal circumstances

Visa Compliance Personal Circumstances

You must keep UKVI up to date with certain details relating to your personal circumstances.  You must advise them of changes to your:

• Address (and that of your legal representative, if applicable)
• Passport (if you obtain a new passport)
• Name
• Nationality
• Appearance
• Date of birth
• Gender
• Criminal convictions; and
• Changes to relationships with family members who have leave to be in the UK as your dependent.

To do this, you will need to download and print the Migrant Change in Circumstances form, fill in the form, and post to UKVI at the address provided.

If you have been issued with a new passport, you must email a copy of the photo page of your new passport to immigration@reading.ac.uk so that we can update your student record.

You are also required to notify UKVI of your new passport. To do this, you will need to download and print the Migrant Change in Circumstances form, fill in the form, and post to UKVI at the address provided.

If you have been granted a visa in another immigration category, you must email a copy of the front and back of your new BRP (or provide us with a share code if you have a digital immigration status) to immigration@reading.ac.uk so that we can update your student record and withdraw sponsorship of your Tier 4/Student visa with UKVI.

If you have changed nationality, you must email a copy of your new passport to immigration@reading.ac.uk so that we can update your student record.

You will also need to apply for a new BRP using the Transfer of Conditions application. You should then email a copy of the front and back of your new BRP to immigration@reading.ac.uk.

You are also required to notify UKVI of your new nationality and passport. To do this, you will need to download and print the Migrant Change in Circumstances form, fill in the form, and post to UKVI at the address provided.

If your BRP is lost, stolen or damaged, see our advice on what to do next. You will need to report the loss/damage to UKVI and apply for a replacement within three months.

Please remember that once you have received a new BRP, you must email a copy of the front and back to immigration@reading.ac.uk so we can update your student record.
