Congratulations to members of staff from the University Admissions Office who ran the Woodley 10k last weekend, in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

Emma Bowman, Kerrie Walsh, Jo Davies and Jess Blanchard from Admissions, and Luke Chapman from IT Services joined 675 other keen runners on Sunday 13 May in Woodford Park, to complete the 10 kilometre route around Woodley.

Kerrie Walsh, Faculty Admissions Officer for Science and Life Sciences, said: "We were all pretty nervous at the start line, as some of us had done more training than others, but it was a lovely sunny day for the race and we all managed to finish with respectable times!

"It has been great working together as a team to do something positive outside of work, and hopefully we'll be able to encourage even more members of staff to take part next year!

"We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has sponsored us and who came down to cheer us on throughout the race and at the finish line."

Friends and families of the runners, as well as the wider community, have been very generous in their support and so far the team have raised over £600 for their chosen charity.
