WWW - A Beginners Guide to Internet Explorer

Aims

To introduce the basics of Internet Explorer as the web browsing package. Note that participants should have their own username/password available.

Objectives

By the end of the session, users will be able to:

  • use a link to move to another web page
  • use the buttons on the toolbar to go back a page, go forward a page, go to the home page, and view their recent web history
  • put in a web page address, and use the stop button, if needed, to halt information transfer
  • add favourites for pages/sites of interest, and know how to find previous favourites
  • run various search engines to perform a search
  • discover how to save information (both text and graphics) from a Web page

Format

1 hour hands-on session, on PCs with demonstration via overhead projection.
