Creating Personal Web Pages Using Microsoft Word

Aims

To demonstrate how World Wide Web pages work and how to create and set up Personal Web Pages at the University.

Objectives

By the end of the session, participants will know how to:

  • Create a web page using Microsoft Word
  • View HTML and recognise some of the commoner mark-up codes
  • Understand how a web page operates
  • Link web pages together
  • Include images and e-mail links
  • Provide external links to other WWW sites
  • Set up a Personal Home Page directory with the necessary access permissions

Pre-requisites

Must be able to use a web browser.

Format

One 2 hour hands-on session, with additional demonstrations via overhead projection.
