Arranging links to your pages

From the University main pages

When your website is ready, please email its-help@reading.ac.uk and request an abreviated URL, if you do not have one already (ie a 'Reading+1 URL).  You should also request that your website be linked to from the University top-level pages.

From outside the University - advertising your Web Pages

Once you have your Reading+1 URL, you can advertise your pages. Some search engines will automatically find your pages once links from current pages have been made. Other search engines require you to proactively announce your pages. For further information on announcing your web pages, go to:-

Most of the search engines are free but TAKE CARE - some may try and charge you!
