Insuring/Securing your equipment

Portable laptop PCs are very desirable, and very easy to steal.

Laptops are vulnerable, especially on campus and in the libraries which are publicly accessible buildings. Although rare, it is has been known for laptops to be stolen from the S@il area.

For a small cost, normally £20 - £30, it is possible to buy a lock that allows you to secure your laptop PC to a desk, and if in a public area, will help to deter the opportunist thief from just picking up the equipment and running away with it.
