Dates and fees

CalendarThe International Foundation Programme has two entry points; students can begin in late September or January (for selected Business pathways).

The seven-month January start programme offers the same content, quality and benefits as the September - June programme in a more intensive format.

The tuition fees at Reading are similar to those at other British universities; information about the current fees can be found on the left menu.

FAQS

  • When will I have to pay my tuition fees?

You will be required to pay your fees before you register during the first week of the Programme. Information on how you can pay your fees will be sent to you when you accept an offer to join the Programme.

  • Can I pay my fees online?

Visit the University of Reading Student Online Payment Service to pay your fees online.

  • Can I pay my fees in instalments?

You may pay your fees in two instalments, the first on registration and the second in January. You will be invoiced for your accommodation at the start of each term.

  • Do students from the European Union have to pay the international student fee?

Yes, all students on the Foundation Programme are required to pay the international student fee. If EU students successfully complete the foundation year and go on to a degree programme, they are then charged the lower tuition fee which is paid by UK students.

  • Are there any scholarships which will help me with the cost of my tuition fees and living expenses?

The University does not offer any scholarships to students on the Foundation Programme. However, six scholarships of £1,750 each are awarded at the end of the foundation year to students who have shown exceptional academic ability. The £1,750 is then deducted from their first year undergraduate tuition fees at the University of Reading. Up to eight prizes of £250 are also awarded each year.
