We are consistently one of the most popular higher education choices in the UK, receiving, on average, seven applications for every undergraduate place.
We deliver a world-class student experience, research-led teaching and have an excellent graduate employability record. The numbers of our students going on to higher level study is well above the national average.
The University's admissions policy is to attract and admit the most able and motivated undergraduate and postgraduate students with the greatest potential, irrespective of their background. Our admissions procedures and provision of bursaries are designed to support this policy fully.
The University continues to evolve, reflecting an ever-changing world, which drives the development of our areas of research excellence and strength. For example, we are leading the way in multidisciplinary work in biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences, housed in a new £17 million centre.
We are committed to maintaining a supportive, challenging and high-quality experience for students.
Our Programmes
Our unusually broad portfolio of full and part-time degree programmes covers the arts, humanities, sciences and social sciences. We offer courses and research in the specialist areas of agriculture, construction management, horticulture, cybernetics, meteorology, real estate and typography, where there are few other national providers. We regularly update our programmes as new ideas emerge and industry needs change. We understand the importance of employability to our students and give as much practical help as possible to ensure that they achieve their career goals. As such, there are opportunities for work placements in all of our programmes, which can range from a just a few weeks to three months during the summer vacation to a whole year in industry.
Full details of all courses at the University of Reading can be found via the undergraduate and postgraduate prospectus.
