Summary module description:
An UG research module only available for selection only by incoming study abroad students joining the Study Abroad Programme at Reading from one of our exchange partner institutions.
Aims:
The module aims to develop students research skills (including identifying a suitable topic, aims and hypotheses, planning and conducting research, gathering, critically reviewing and synthesising information, analysing and discussing results) and provides detailed understanding of a specific subject area of their choice. Additionally, students should be able to use IT and statistical skills developed earlier in the course in the delivery and presentation of the dissertation.
Details of each project is to be finalised between host School (supervisor), student participant, and participants home university.

Brief description of teaching and learning methods:
Participant will be supervised by an academic to participate on a pre-defined and pre-agreed project at the University. The Teaching & Learning methods will depend on the subject and nature of the project, but details will be provided to the participant in advance of the start of the project.
