Wessex Hall Foot Path: The large Cedar at the edge of the path has crown reduction works scheduled as part of on-going crown management following snow damage in 2012. The foot path adjacent will be closed Wednesday 30th November until Friday 2nd December 2022

Black Bridge: Tree pruning adjacent to the foot path will require the closure of the Black Bridge on Thursday 15th December 2022 until approximately 10am

Student Union: Tree pruning at the entrance of 360 will require closure of the surrounding pavement on Thursday 15th December 2022 from approximately 10am

Bridges Hall: The foot path between Abingdon and Barnes Houses, Bridges Hall will be closed on Thursday 15th December 2022 for the removal of a decayed tree.

Childs Hall to Fox Hill Drive: Tree removal at the edge of the road opposite Quainton and Ruscombe House, Childs Hall. This will require the road closure from the foot path leading to Broad Oak place to Fox House Drive on Friday 16th December 2022 The Gate giving access to Whiteknights road will be open to keep access to Fox Hill House

North of Hopkins Building: The Veteran Oak Tree on the corner of the road has been subject to a programme of crown reduction to effectively make the tree shorter and squatter reducing the risk of failure in severe weather events. To carry out ongoing works the road will be closed Between RSSL exit and the Friends Bridge foot path on Monday 19th December 2022

Chancellor’s Building: Ash die back is now established on our campuses and due to the likelihood of branch failures of infected trees we are reluctantly carrying out a programme of removal of infected trees prioritising the higher occupancy areas. During the Christmas close down (27th – 30th December 2022) we will be removing all the Ash trees surrounding the Chancellors Building.

London Road Campus: The large Cedar on the north boundary near to London Road itself is to be removed due to basal decay. The Large Ash next to it is also to be removed as it is in decline due to Ash die back, this has been scheduled 27th – 30th December 2022. The Grounds team will be taking the opportunity to remove the rather tired planting beneath and replace it with mixed native tree and shrub species. Part of the Cedar will be left as standing dead wood.
