Right to Work in the UK

Advice on eligibility and obtaining the correct right to work documentation.

Non-EU graduates who want to work in the UK after graduation may apply for a Tier 2 VISA.

To be eligible for a Tier 2 visa:

  • You must have been offered a job at a particular skills level by an employer with a Tier 2 visa sponsor licence
  • Your job must pay a minimum of £20,800 (though this can depend on the job)
  • You must have £945 in savings, unless your sponsor is fully approved (A-rated)
  • For further Information, see our advice on visa and immigration

Alongside other institutions, the University of Reading was selected to pilot the streamlining of the process for International Masters students wanting to study in the UK. This will provide greater support for students wishing to switch to a work visa and start a graduate role by allowing them to remain in the UK up to 6 months post-graduation.
