CareersFest (previously JobFest) showcases experiences that will benefit students outside of their studies and could impact their employability and enrich their experience. That has meant that Careers have organised a number of the activities, including a part-time jobs fair.
This year the event will run virtually using Careers Fair Plus and our virtual learning environment, Blackboard. All exhibitor information will be hosted on the Career Fair Plus app.
Here’s how you can get involved:
1. Employer webinars (mostly on 30 September)
We will create appropriate groupings to expose part-time employers to a greater number of students whilst enabling students to find out about lots of opportunities in a shorter time frame. Sessions are recorded and can be viewed post-event to extend reach. We will tailor the panels to suit the bookings we receive.
2. Employer 1:1 Chats (10am-5pm, 1 October)
This functionality on Careers Fair Plus enables students to reserve a 1:1 appointment with their chosen employers/providers. In most instances, these will be informal in nature. However for CareersFest many employers like to interview on the spot and you can indicate if this is the case in your employer information. Students are able to attach a CV if required when setting up their profile and booking appointments.
You call the student at the allocated time using the information you can view in the recruiter side of the app.
For all our fairs, these appointments are set to 10 minutes, with regular breaks for employers. These schedules can be tailored for each employer to suit your availability.
3. What else can you do?
Within your Careers Fair Plus profile, you can include external links to videos.
We hope to create a Virtual goody bag for students – vouchers, links to resources etc. If you have anything you would like to include, please indicate this when placing your booking.
Post your vacancies on MyJobsOnline before the event date to increase reach.
Bookings open on 17 August 2020. Places are charged a £50+VAT administration fee. This is waived for charity and not-for-profit organisations.
If you would like to request a space at the fair, please follow the steps below using our online portal, MyJobsOnline.
- If your organisation is already registered on MyJobsOnline, please log in and complete the booking request form.
- If your organisation is not registered on MyJobsOnline, or you do not know the log in details, please register. Your organisation will be approved by a member of the Careers team, after which you will need to complete the booking request form.
Please complete the booking form by no later than Monday 14 September 2020. Early booking is advised to secure your space and bookings will be closed when we reach capacity.
