Employers are looking for applicants who can demonstrate a real commitment to social impact. Volunteering can be an excellent way to show this whilst also developing valuable skills and building your network. Volunteering within RUSU is a great place to start!
At RUSU, we want to make sure you have opportunities that can help in your future career which is why we have partnered with Careers for Social Impact Week. You’ll be able to find out exactly what you can do to make a difference to the student experience whilst discovering how being a RUSU Rep can help you get that dream job!
This might be through representation where being a Course or Senior Rep will put you at the forefront of creating change by developing ideas for improving your degree and getting the most out of your education. It could also involve becoming a Student Trustee where you’ll sit at the top of the organisation ensuring we deliver our charitable outcomes and remain accountable to students. You might want to become a Part-time Officer where you can be the voice for underrepresented students such as BAME, disabled and LGBQ+. Finally, you could run to be a Full-time Officer where you’ll get the chance to drive the direction of the organisation, making influential decisions that will enhance the student experience.Molli Cleaver, RUSU President
