Imprint Society of Reading

The Imprint Society meets under the joint auspices of Special Collections and the Department of Typography & Graphic Communication. The initial aim was simply to associate the resources of the Special Collections with the interests and expertise of the Department.

Speakers (including many very distinguished in their field) have addressed an extremely wide range of topics covering most aspects of books and libraries, printing and typography, illustration and print-making, for the benefit of an equally varied audience of academics, librarians, teachers, printers, binders, collectors, booksellers, and readers.

Imprint Society meetings aim to be informal, much more in the nature of a seminar than a lecture. Wherever possible there is hands-on experience of the materials under discussion.
