Documents from the Salò Republic
The Italian Social Republic (Repubblica Sociale Italiana) was the Fascist government in the north of Italy established by Mussolini after Italy surrendered to the Allies in 1943. It was known as the Salò Republic as it was based in and around the town of Salò on Lake Garda.
The collection includes official bulletins, texts of radio messages, permits, propaganda material and passports.
