The following collections have been transferred elsewhere:

  • Guild of Saint George collection of medieval manuscripts, and the archives of the Guild, also known as the Ruskin Collection, were returned to Sheffield City Art Galleries in 1985 and are now displayed in the Ruskin Gallery of the Sheffield Galleries & Museums Trust
  • Isotype collection has mostly been transferred to the Department of Typography
