Presentations

SCARP is a formal conference in which Part 3 and Part 4 students, will have an opportunity to present their project to an audience:

All students attending the conference should assemble in the Large Lecture Theatre (LLT), URS Building, at 9.00 on Tuesday 24th May 2016 for an introductory talk.

The conference presentations will begin at 09.30 and will consist of a series of four sessions. Speakers must be in their respective rooms at the start of each session, and remain throughout the session.

Each presentation consists of a 10 minute talk, followed by 5 minutes for questions. A 10 minute break is allowed between sessions, and 1 hour is allotted for lunch. The School photo is schedule between 13:00 and 13:30 and will be taken outside weather permitting.

Material for presentations should be brought with the speaker on the day. Microsoft PowerPoint or PDF presentations are preferred.

Speakers should go to their room at least 5 minutes before the start of their session to test / setup their presentations.

Those attending the conference are reminded that a smart dress code should be observed. All speakers must attend the entire conference. Attendance is monitored during each session.

During your session, members of staff will be marking your presentation and the results will contribute to your overall project mark, so prepare well and do your best. Remember that your presentation should reflect the work which you have done. Staff are asked to consider the technical scope of your presentation, the quality of your presentation material e.g. slides, and the quality of the presentation delivery e.g. vocal clarity, and then award a mark from 0-5. SCARP is worth 5% of your project module mark.
