Portable Electrical Appliance Testing

INTRODUCTION

This course aims to provide candidates with sufficient knowledge to test Portable Appliances safely, as required in the IEE Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. All staff who are required to carry out portable electrical appliance testing (PAT) for their School or Department must complete this course.

On successful completion of the course, candidates will be able to demonstrate an ability to inspect and test items of equipment and keep appropriate records.

COURSE CONTENT

The course has a combination of theory and practical elements.It will cover the University's procedures for portable appliance testing, the IEE Code of Practice as well as basic electrical safety and practical appliance testing.All test equipment will be provided.

*Please note that departments will incur a charge for each candidate submitted for the course. At time of printing, the cost is of the course will be divided by the total number of particpants.
