New Lot Marking Regulations 1996
New Food (Lot Marking) Regulations 1996 come into force on the 1 July 1996 (SI 1996 No 1502). The Regulations revoke and replace the Food (Lot Marking) Regulations 1992. The new Regulations implement Directive 89/396 as amended. They continue the requirements that food which has been produced, prepared or packaged as part of a lot is marked or labelled so as to enable the lot to be identified. The Regulations have been made with a view to simplifying the 1992 Regulations.
