This is the fourth in a series of quarterly reports that review changes in food and feed legislation affecting the UK.

The primary purpose of the report is to track changes in food and agricultural legislation, concentrating on legislative changes that relate to chemical measurement and the role of the Government Chemist. It also includes general issues in food and feed to ensure contextual awareness.

Following on from the UK cumin case referred by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) to the Government Chemist for investigation and reported in our previous April – June report, the Government Chemist was asked to investigate a sample of paprika alleged to contain almond. Work on this case commenced during the quarter.
