Draft Guidance Notes on The Regulation and Labelling of Food Supplements
The letter attaches draft guidance notes which outline how dietary supplements are regulated in the UK. They contain the advice the FSA provides in response to queries, we hope that bringing this information together in one place will be helpful to industry and enforcement authorities. The notes describe the framework of legislation which applies and outline the relevant labelling rules. They also contain advice on nutrition labelling, which is intended to promote consistency in the presentation of this information.
The letter seeks comments to ensure the guidance notes are accurate and as clear and helpful as possible. Comments are requested by 1 August 2000.
