Council Minutes, 30 November 2015
ADDITIVES - Authorisation of a food flavour and a food additive: Council discussions
The following is an extract from the minutes of the Competitiveness (Internal Market, Industry, Research and Space) Council meeting:
The Council decided not to oppose the adoption of the following two Commission regulations:
- a regulation authorising the use of gamma-glutamyl-valyl-glycine as a flavouring substance for use in and on foods
- a regulation authorising the use of extracts of rosemary (E 392) as an antioxidant in spreadable fats with a fat content less than 80%.
The Commission regulations are subject to the so called regulatory procedure with scrutiny. This means that now that the Council has given its consent, the Commission may adopt them, unless the European Parliament objects.
