We use the term embargo at the University of Reading to describe when something is unavailable or switched off for a period of time. The following services will be subject to an embargo for most students at certain stages of the academic year:

• Your Provisional (with current modules) transcript
• Your module results screen in RISIS which shows your assessment marks for the current academic year.
• The student progress dashboard.

When will my module results screen in RISIS be embargoed? 

Please note only undergraduate students have an embargo or their module results screen. Postgraduates will continue to have access to this screen. 

The module results screen in RISIS will be turned off just before the summer assessment weeks begin. It will be turned back on after results publication. For most students this will be between the 27 May 2025 and 15 July 2025, but this may differ depending on when results for your programme are released. 

It will again be turned back off shortly before the resit assessment weeks begin and turned back on following results publication. This means it will be unavailable 26 May 2026 – 24 July 2026. 

When will my student progress dashboard be embargoed? 

The student progress dashboard will be switched off for all students just before the Semester 2 assessment weeks begin. It will be turned back on again once all students have received their results. It will therefore be unavailable between 27 May 2026 and 13 August 2026.  
 
It will again be turned back off shortly before the resit assessment weeks begin and turned back on following results publication. This means it will be unavailable 21 August 2026 – 17 September 2026.
