Results

It is vital to remember that there is a difference between “provisional marks” or just “marks” and what we call “results”, which are considered to be the outcome of either a progression decision or an award i.e. what you officially receive at the publication of results towards the end of the academic year. So, any mention of ‘results’ on these pages means your final or provisional results, and not your marks.

You will see (sub-modular) marks from your Semester 1 assessments start to appear on RISIS, in the student dashboard, as marking is completed. For coursework this may be earlier in the Semester, whereas for examinations this will only be after the Semester 1 assessment period.  We would expect all marks for Semester 1 modules (only) to be visible by midday on Wednesday 3rd March 2027.

At this early stage, your provisional marks are still subject to change, but they will give you a good indication of what you have achieved to date.

If you are taking modules that are long and thin (meaning that you are taking them across both semesters), then the following applies:

  • Exam marks for the Semester 1 assessment period will be visible on the student dashboard only
  • Full-semester 1 & 2 module and exam marks will not be visible until finalist and progression results are released in the summer

The publication time and date of your (end of year) results will vary, depending on your level of study. A full list of when results are released can be found below.

Finalists

Confirmed degree classifications for Finalists are formally published following the University Awarding Board. Results are emailed to students and marks are published individually to the student's RISIS portal at the same time.

Only finalists finishing their degree in Summer are sent a provisional result. This is to enable finalists to access the Post-Result Exceptional Circumstances (PREC) process in enough time for the University to know who will be attending Graduation in July. Finalist students are sent confirmed results once the PREC process is complete and the University Awarding Board has met.

Finalists completing their degree later in the year to be eligible for Graduation in December are sent finalised results only, they are not sent provisional results. These students are able to access the Post-Result Exceptional Circumstances (PREC) process once they receive these results in November.

Non-finalists

Confirmed progression outcomes for Non-finalists are formally published following the University Progression Board. Results are emailed to students and marks are published individually to the student's RISIS portal at the same time.

All non-finalists are sent one results email only. This contains the modular results and, in the case of Undergraduate students and Masters In Architecture students, the progression outcome. The progression outcome indicates if a student can progress onto the next part of their degree. If a student is currently unable to progress but has a resit opportunity available to them, the email will also state the reassessments the student is eligible to undertake.

All results are released by 3pm on the relevant day indicated on the results dates page.
