What is the RED Global Engagement Award?
The Reading Experience and Development (RED) Global Engagement Award is one of the University of Reading’s Official Skills Awards. It offers students the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of the wider world, enhance their employability, and become more globally engaged.
The award is designed to help you explore global issues, appreciate cultural diversity, and reflect on what it means to be a socially responsible global citizen.
The award is also flexible, so you can complete it alongside your studies at your own pace.

How do I complete it?
The award is made up of two stages: Points Submission and Advocacy. To successfully complete the award, you must:
- Earn 25 points by completing a range of activities with a global and cultural focus
- Reflect on what you've learned through your Advocacy task and by completing a short post-award survey
