Dr Mckendrick's current research interests are twofold: i) the development of synthetic methods applicable to the construction of natural products, this currently focuses on the use of ring rearrangement metathesis and the exploitation of non-classical cation rearrangement reactions and ii) development of bio-compatible-drug eluting polymers for coating medical devices (e.g. stents) in collaboration with BioInteractions Ltd.
