Ceremony registration
How to register
Invitations to June/July 2010 Graduation have now been sent. If you do not receive any information and think you may be eligible to graduate, please contact us.

If you want to attend your graduation ceremony
- Register on the RISISweb portal or complete a paper registration form by the extended deadline of Friday 9 April 2010. You may not have received your results at this stage but we need to know if you wish to attend so that we can ensure that there are enough tickets for your guests.
If you want to graduate in absence
- Register on the RISISweb portal or complete a paper registration form by the extended deadline of Friday 9 April 2010.
- After the ceremonies have taken place, your certificate will be posted to your permanent home address, unless you instruct us otherwise
If you want to graduate at a future ceremony
- If you are unable to attend your graduation ceremony, or have not yet finished your course and wish to defer to a future ceremony, please register on the RISISweb portal or complete a paper registration form by the extended deadline of Friday 9 April 2010. You will not receive your certificate until you officially graduate at a future ceremony.
If you're not sure what you want to do
It is better to tell us that you wish to attend and then change your mind later because if you wait to tell us that you want to attend, there may not be tickets left for you and your guests.
For students who register before the extended deadline of Friday 9 April 2010- If you experience problems logging in to the RISISweb portal
If you have difficulty logging in to the RISISweb portal then contact the RISIS team at risis@reading.ac.uk
- If you are able to log into the RISISweb portal but are unable to view the graduation screens, please contact the Graduation Office at graduation@reading.ac.uk
Please note: if you do not register for Graduation and we receive a final result for you, you will automatically graduate in absence and will not be able to attend a later ceremony.
Hire or buy your academic dress
You need to hire or buy your academic dress (cap, hood and gown) at least 21 days before your ceremony from Ede & Ravenscroft Ltd.
Academic dress can be hired or bought:
- online at www.gownhire.co.uk. You will receive a £5 hire discount for booking online.
- through the Ede & Ravenscroft Call Centre, +44 (0) 1223 861 854. You will not receive the online hire discount if you place your order over the phone.
