Technical support activities at the level of a specialist. Instrumentation including High-Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC). Perform associated maintenance and upkeep tasks.
Oversight of the Permit to Work system.
Responsible for producing training supplements at several levels: students, technicians, and researchers. Including introduction to topics related to specialised equipment.
Setting up and carrying out practicals in Chemistry and Food Chemistry, and demonstrating relevant instrumentation for students (GC and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy).
Act as Safety Lab Coordinator for research labs.
Create new TechNotes, Risk Assessments (COSHH-RA) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for modules and instruments and/or update the existing one.

Teaching experience at the university level in Chemistry and Food Chemistry. Organic and inorganic synthesis. Synthesis of nanoparticles. Enantioselective transformations with palladium, nickel and copper catalysts, photoredox catalysis and photoorganocatalysis. High Throughput Experimentation (HTE). Technical Knowledge: standard (glove box, vacuum line and Schlenk tube) for handling air sensitive materials. NMR (1D and 2D) on Varian and Bruker instruments. Skilled in routine use and maintenance of GC, GC-MS, UV-VIS, IR, HPLC, UPC2, UHPLC-SQD2.
Familiarity across wide range of HPLC and GC platforms (Agilent, Thermo-Fisher, Waters).
