Dr Georgios Pexas

Areas of interest

My main research interests lie in the development and use of comprehensive sustainability assessment methods to evaluate the potential impacts of human activities (i.e., agricultural activities) on the environment, economy and society, as well as to analyse trade-offs between the different pillars of sustainability. Some of the specific areas I am keen on investigating are innovations in integrated and prospective life cycle assessments for the agri-food sector, and the use of participatory research in the achievement of sustainable development goals in agriculture.

Research centres and groups

Research projects

My work as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Sustainable Land Management department revolves primarily around the H2020 Innovation Project "ENVISION: Monitoring environmental practices for sustainable agriculture supported by EO" (https://envision-h2020.eu/) (2020 - 2023). My research focuses on improving the sustainability of the agriculture sector using innovative environmental, economic and social life cycle modelling approaches.
