Pamphlet Books Collection

The collection contains over 6000 pamphlets, most published 1750-1900, bound in around 600 volumes. It includes about 90 volumes apparently from the library of William Wyndham, Baron Grenville.

Subject strengths include all aspects of British 19th century politics, such as the Irish question, Catholic emancipation, the Corn Laws and free trade and the Poor laws, also education, the Church of England, and geology.

Around 2500 pamphlets were catalogued as part of the CURL Nineteenth Century Pamphlets Project.
