Archive of the London Typographical Designers Ltd

London Typographical Designers was started in 1945 by four men who shared the view that writers and designers should enjoy direct access to their clients.  As well as one-off assignments LTD were retained by many large companies, among them John Laing, Marconi, Bowater, British Oxygen, Mobil Oil, and Cliffords Dairies.

The collection covers the period 1945-1970 and includes a wide range of designs for advertisements, leaflets, catalogues, letterheads, labels, menus and other publicity material; some 10,000 job packets and specimens, with estimates, artwork, invoices and related papers.
