Papers of Ian Fletcher

Ian Fletcher (1920-1988) was Professor of English at the University of Reading from 1955 to 1982. He was an expert on 1890s literature and a friend of John Gawsworth, another bibliophile and enthusiast for neglected writers. Trained as a librarian, Ian Fletcher was a generous benefactor of the University of Reading Library and a founding patron of its archive of contemporary writers.

The collection includes poems, articles and other writings together with extensive correspondence.
