Staff unable to log in

Staff use their University username and password, just as for Blackboard or email, to log in.

Reports are tailored to allow information to be accessed according to individual roles. This may range from being able to call up reports on individual students, or on a group of students (eg by module or by course), to being able to input marks, review and process applications, enter data on academic misconduct, manage open days, review graduation lists, update module textual data, review programme specifications, and many other areas. Some departments have departmental specific reports. If you are able to log in but are unable to see the reports or functions that you believe you should have, please email us on to request this. In some circumstances, where reports deal with sensitive data, we may need to confirm this request with your Head of Department.

Staff portal access does not give access to an individual member of staff's study records: if you are a member of staff but are also studying here, you must use your student username to log into your student records.

If you do not currently have staff access to the RISISweb portal but believe you should have this, please email us on Please quote your staff number in the email. Staff on the academic and administrative scales are normally granted access once their contract is in place and their username has been generated; but only after completion of the University's Data Protection and Freedom of Information modules which can be found via the IMPS web page or for which links are given below.

If you are an external member of staff and do not have a university username, you will need to apply for this via the IT web pages (see link below): this request must be signed off by the Head of Department for which you are carrying out staff duties.
