Our expertise spans agriculture and economics, horticulture, food, rural environments and international development. In addition to this, our links with the Centre for Food Security and the Walker Institute for Climate System Research, also based within the School, ensure our teaching covers cutting-edge topics, has an applied dimension and remains highly policy relevant.
GIIDAE attracts around 90 Master’s students each year, typically coming from 40 countries, making the Institute an outstanding example of a globalised educational experience. In recent years, we have attracted students from throughout Africa, South and East Asia, South America, Europe and the Middle East. This broad international mix, which includes both young graduates and experienced mid-career professionals, helps create a unique learning environment for all students.
